Tech Week begins November 29, 2021
Performances are December 2-12, 2021 at The Forum Theatre in San Diego
Week #1 Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 7pm
Week #2 Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm
There is one Industry Night Performance on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 8pm
Compensation:
$350.00 performance stipend
Non-Union only.

Auditions: Saturday, August 21st from 12 noon – 2pm
Callbacks, Sunday, August 22nd from 12 noon – 2pm

About The Play:
Some Kind Of Romance is inspired by the screwball comedies of the 30’s and 40’s. Dennis is having a hard time dealing with the loss of his fiance Scott. He doesn’t want to date but his overbearing yet well-intentioned sister Susan has other ideas. She sets him up on a blind date with a cutie named Quint, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Dennis’ dearly departed Scott. To make matters worse, Scott returns to Dennis’ life as a ghost. Seen only by him, Scott meddles in Dennis’ life, leading his family and friends to believe he is bat crap crazy.
Character List:
DENNIS BRANIGAN – 25-35 Any Ethnicity – Dennis is a hopeless romantic and high strung. He is deeply in love with Scott Fernsby. He is very jocular and cheeky but can be naive. He has an older sister Susan and they definitely have an older sister/younger brother dynamic.
SCOTT FERNSBY – 25-35 Any Ethnicity – Scott is deeply in love with Dennis and appears to Dennis as a wise-cracking ghost. He is impish and can be an instigator and not always in a good way. This role requires brief partial nudity (rear). Must be comfortable performing in boxer briefs.
SUSAN MILLER – 28-35 Any Ethnicity – Susan is brash, opinionated and, at times, can be somewhat vulgar. She owns any room she enters. She has a younger brother Dennis and they definitely have an older sister/younger brother dynamic.
QUINT HUDDLESTON 25-35 Any Ethnicity – Qunit is sweet and shy, but is not scared to make the first move, however awkwardly. He falls in love quickly and is immediately smitten with Dennis.
